Werabe University has been annually providing grants to the best research, community engagement, and innovative technology related proposals. In the 2019 academic year, the university has planned to provide funds to the best and selected research, community
engagement, and innovative technology-transfer ideas.

Thematic Research Approach
Werabe University has fully implemented a thematic research approach. Researchers are required to consult the Senate Approved
Research Thematic Areas of WRU4935, available on RIMS.
Postgraduate thematic research integration is highly relevant and strongly encouraged.
All proposals must be prepared in strict accordance with the Thematic Research Guidelines.
Proposals lead by women or including several women Co-PIs is rewarded with positive evaluation
Researcher who published previously funded projects is rewarded with positive evaluation

In line with the research partnership agreement between Werabe University and Werabe Comprehensive Hospital, staff of Werabe Comprehensive Hospital are invited to submit joint research proposals for funding in the 2025 academic year.
* Requirement: Each proposal must include at least one co-researcher from Werabe University.
* Submission: Proposals should be submitted through the Research Information Management System (RIMS): https://www.rims.wru.edu.et.
Selected proposals will receive institutional support, ethical clearance, and funding.

and before. Those who completed the research but not presented
in completed research defense, you will have an opportunity to submit and
present to the University Review and Ethical Board on 26/02/2024 and 29/02/2024
respectively. Staff are encouraged to submit early before the deadline. It
will not be extended by any means. In the research proposal, reference
should be added using only Endnote software. Otherwise, the proposal
will be rejected during department level evaluation. Those Who submit proposal
in previous call and were absent during the research defense shall deposit 5700
Birr in the university account and submit the receipt to RPD prior to the
deadline.
